The annual Earnings for Learning program at Grand Central Mall runs thru September 13th. Any purchases made at the Mall or surrounding businesses (Toys R Us, Old Navy, Olive Garden, HHGregg etc) are eligible for points for St. Mary Catholic School. Bring your receipts to the Guest Services desk at the GCM between the dates of July 27-Sept. 13 for points towards our school. Monday & Tuesday are double points days. Students at St. Mary School will now receive instruction in 2 Foreign Language options for the 2014-2015 Academic year. Mrs. Barengo will continue to teach Sign language to grades Preschool thru 8th grade, and joining our staff as a Spanish instructor will be Mrs. Monica Carhuay. Spanish will also be taught to grades Preschool thru 8th grade. Students will have a weekly foreign language class, alternating one semester of each. Welcome Mrs.Carhuay!
Congratulations Hailey Bennett
St. Mary Alum Hailey Bennett was the Marietta High School class of 2014 Valedictorian.
"We're now standing on the brink of the rest of our lives, but we couldn't have done this without the support of our parents, teachers and the surrounding community," Bennett said in her address to the graduating class.
"And there are great things ahead of us if we're only willing to work for them," she said.
Hailey will be attending Marietta College in the fall.
Congratulations Mrs. Sewell, March WTAP Jan Dills Golden Apple Award Winner
Long time St. Mary 4th grade teacher Paula Sewell was presented with the WTAP Golden Apple Award at an all school assembly on Tuesday. Representatives from WTAP, Jan Dills Attorneys at Law, and Baker & Baker Jewelers presented Mrs. Sewell with a golden apple bracelet, plaque, and gift certificate. The award is given to a teacher in the Mid-Ohio Valley from online nominations.
