Be advised that if you are a St. Mary’s parishioner and have a child (ren) enrolled at either St. Mary Catholic School or Parkersburg Catholic High School, you are scheduled to work bingo. The obligation to volunteer for bingo is stipulated in your St. Mary’s School Tuition Agreement: “A registered, contributing parishioner is one who regularly attends Sunday and Holy Day Masses and contributes time, talent and treasure to the parish.” All bingo proceeds benefit the operation of our school, including the tuition subsidy that we pay for your child to attend Parkersburg Catholic High School. Consequently, your participation (or lack of) directly affects tuition rates.
If you are unable to work on your assigned evening, you must make arrangements to have a substitute; it is very difficult and unfair to leave your fellow parents shorthanded. Note that according to state law, workers must be at least 18 years of age. Also if you are a caller, ensure that your substitute is another caller.
Everyone, including the caller, should be in the Parish Center (at the school) by 5:00 P.M. Upon arrival, remember to sign in, so your participation is documented. Bingo concludes after clean-up–at approximately 10:00 P.M.
We are in need of Callers for a few of the teams. If you are interested in becoming a Caller, please contact us. Thanks to those who have volunteered!
If you have any questions, concerns, or suggestions, please don’t hesitate to contact us at the school, 740-374-8181. In advance, we thank you for your participation and commitment to the continued success of our school.
